HSM 3… nice show isn’t it? That’s what I’ve heard from my friends and sis who have watch that show. I have not seen it for myself, not until today when we decided to pay a surprise visit to Serena’s home to celebrate her 18th birthday. To cut things short, yea, we went to the cinema together to watch HSM3 to find out ourselves what this great movie is all about.
The first few minutes of the show, was…what shall I say, moving? I don’t know how to describe this feeling actually. Confused? Touching? No. The thing is, after watching the scene on troy and his teammates, the wildcats of east high losing the second period of the game, or whatever it is called. I find myself, um… My eyes were filled with tears.
You may think that I’m insane, or mou liu, soh kang kang, or mou teng teng wan yeh lei ham.
Well, the only person who could understand my feeling now is someone who’s far far away from malaysia. We shared the same passion for netball. Nobody will understand what we’ve gone through after being left sinking into depression for a week; when nothing goes into our head. We could not understand a single lesson in class. We could not concentrate or do our work. We were aimless. We don’t know what to do with our lives anymore. Our hopes sank. Thank god we manage to recover from it.
I felt so guilty. Another friend, also a netball teammate actually compose a sajak out of it. It’s already published in srikandi, 2007 edition, so whoever’s interested may find out more in our school magazine. And another person was poh juan. After the movie, while I was fetching serena back home, she asked me, “ jennifer… just now when you watch the movie, do you feel like it’s about netball (when you watch the starting part), and convent, and us graduating form 5?“
I thought I was the only one still thinking about convent, not letting go of my form 5 life. It’s just that life in convent had been so colorful. All the ups and downs we have to go through. It’s good to know that there are still people thinking about school. The place where friendship has been brought to a greater level with the people I’ve known since primary school, and of course where I meet people whom I became friends with later on.
When I fall, there’s always a hand stretched out to reach for me, for me to hold on to. When I’m worried; hah, nervous in my netball game, there’s always a voice telling me, it’ll be all right. We’re gonna go out there and do it. We’re gonna make the school proud. And I, replying back the same thing. And when everything is going against me, there are also these people I call friends, standing up for me, supporting me the whole way through.
Those who do not understand netball may think we were just some losers blaming the lost on someone else but in netball, it’s different. It’s even worse when you are playing for CONVENT.
But of course, when it comes to sweet memories, memories I would recall whenever I could not sleep at night (I’m afraid I might forget them as I grow older), will always lead to tears in my eyes.
